Top 10 for Hudson & Lehan in York City Center Crit!
Last Sunday Harrogate Nova riders Simon Hudson and Paul Lehan took part
in the support race at the York City Centre cycling races, as part of
the British Cycling National Elite series along with over 90 other
riders on this very narrow course with sharp bends, cobbles & speed
bumps creating a very challenging course, made even more tricky by light
rain towards the end of the race. The slippery conditions, narrow course
and the number of riders vying for the front of the pack meant that
crashes were inevitable and with the pace of the race very high, only a
third of the riders finished. But both Simon and Paul managed to stay
out of trouble although a large crash on the penultimate lap caused a
gap in the field which Simon managed to avoid, but Paul got caught the
wrong side and then couldn't bridge the gap to the leaders, therefore
missing out on the chance for the sprint finish, but they both recorded
fantastic positions with Simon finishing in 9th and Paul 10th. Full
