Excellent turn out for 2nd round of TT league
Warm and sunny conditions saw 24 riders take part in the second round of the Fulford Cycles evening time trial league last Wednesday. Starting at Arkendale Lane end, following the A168 southbound until the Walshford roundabout, before returning to the start, this 10 mile course looks fairly flat on first inspection, but a couple of deceptive undulations can make the return leg particularly difficult.
Tim Moorhouse of Boneshakers put in a superb ride to take full points and first place with a time of 23 minutes 5 seconds, while Harrogate Nova's Simon Ketteringham took a surprise second place with a personal best of 24.01. Third place went to Matthew Mannakee (Boneshakers) 24.19, while two veteran Nova riders competed for 4th position - Phil Mason eventually getting the better of Chris Mawer by just 14 seconds with 24.47.
Carmel Ramwell (Nova) showed her experience taking first place in the ladies contest 29.36, while Madeline Emptage (Boneshakers) took second 30.48, competing for the first time Emma Hicks (Nova) took third with 34.35. For full results click results/fixtures.
